Hello, this is a question about MusGlyphs. When displaying 1/2, the time signature only shows numbers without the / sign. Is it possible to display fractions with a horizontal line instead of a slash? thank you
Not with MusGlyphs, I’m afraid. You could create a Playing Technique instead.
I’m currently practicing making teaching materials. I’m asking this question because I want to express fractions with horizontal lines. I created a text box for additional explanation, and most expressions work fine, except for fractions. Thank you.
Since time signatures traditionally do not use fraction lines, perhaps the solution is not to try to use time signatures to express the fractions; use a font/display system designed to express fractions.
Use the proper tool for the job.
Yes, I will try to find a way. Thank you.
Out of interest, what time signature fractions do you want, just a few specific ones or do you need any/all possibilities?
I’m practicing making a companion book. I think I can publish a companion book using only Dorico, with enough sheet music and text editing, so I’m practicing. I’m asking because I need to include beat markings in the explanation section. Of course, I know that in sheet music, there are no horizontal lines when indicating fractions, but I’m asking because they’re necessary for the text explanation. Thank you.
Maybe not the best idea depending on what you want exactly, but what about creating Playing Techniques?
Oh, how do you do this? If possible, could you please send me a video? Thank you.
Thank you for uploading the video. Is it possible to insert it into a sentence in the text, rather than just displaying it on the notes?
Well, it’s not really the purpose of Playing Techniques, that’s why I was not sure about my suggestion. But you can always move objects in Engrave Mode. Maybe someone will come up with a better solution!
Apart from creating a font, I can’t think of a way to properly insert something like this in the middle of a text. That’s why MusGlyphs is so successful…
I think it’s possible. I’ll give it a try. Thank you.
