Can only split MIDI object from track window

I don’t seem to be able to split a MIDI object into pieces from the MIDI editor window. The MIDI editing window contains all the editing icons, so I select the scissors and try to split, but nothing happens. It seems I can only split the MIDI object from within the track window.

There’s also a gap between the virtual keyboard and the MIDI object in the MIDI editor that does not exist in the track window (see attached screenshot). Can’t work that out either. The MIDI object was originally created in the track window by recording me playing my controller then cutting, erasing and moving what was left around. Does this have something to do with it?

Hi,

In the Project window, you can split the MIDI Part(s). In the Key Editor, you can split the MIDI Notes, not the MIDI Part.
