Can PluginManager.xml be shared across versions?

I have 11.5 Pro & 12 Pro installed.
I don’t like having to add new vst’s in both versions.
Can I point to a shared folder & PluginManager.xml file?

Hi,

There is 11.0 only.

All settings should be inherited from Cubase 11 to Cubase 12 automatically during the very first Cubase 12 start. So there is no need to do this.

In one word… Yes

Thanks guys. I didn’t express the questions well.

Can I run v11 Pro as a backup to sometimes run and have it use the v12 Pro PluginManager.xml which is in a different directory?

Hi,

Yes and no. The plug.inManage.xml is always taken from the given Cubase version. As a workaround, you can make an alias of the Cubase 12 PluginManager.xml and place it to the Cubase 11 preferences folder (make sure, to rename the alias file to match the original). This should work.

Thank you Martin.
I should have though of that.
