Can rhythm slashes with stems be set to play back the underlying MIDI notes they were converted from?

I notice that you can add slash regions over previous material and the hidden material will stay play back. But is it also possible to notate (for example) some actual guitar voicings, and then convert the notes via “voice–>rhythm slashes–>with stems” to a single middle of the stave rhythm line that still plays back the underlying MIDI similarly?
