Can’t launch 10.5 Pro (Windows 11) - no valid license

Hi.

I haven’t used Cubase 10.5 Pro (Windows 11) for a while and when I went to use it last week, the first time in ages admittedly, it said there was no vaild license. I had my dongle plugged in and it was the same laptop I’d used it on previously….the only device I’ve ever used it on.

I know there is something about the E-license no longer being supported but does that mean I can no longer use a product I paid for? The activation software could see that I had a dongle inserted but it doesn’t recognise the license when I launch the software. I tried using my original activation code but that didn’t work either. Maybe I need a new activation code?

Apologies in advance if this an idiotic question or if it’s in the wrong place.

I did submit a support ticket 6 days ago on Friday 7th November but nobody has bothered to reply.

You can use the search function. There are many posts about your problem.

I did, but they only pertained to v10.05 from what I can see, not 10.5 Pro.

Maybe if you could post a link to just one of these many posts you refer to it’d be a great help?

Have you updated to the latest elicenser software?

Hi Grim yes I’m running version 6.12.11.1328.

I uninstalled Cubase 10.5 Pro, updated the E Licenser software just now, reinstalled Cubase 10.5 Pro and it still says no valid license found. :confused:

What do you see if you open elicenser control centre. Can it see your dongle?

Yes on the left under eLicensers it says:

My Licenses

All available licenses

Then it has a serial number of my Soft-eLicenser underneath that.

There is nothing in the window on the right under ‘Licenses’.

You need to see the USB elicenser…..not the soft elicenser. It will actually have a picture of a dongle. If you don’t see that then try replugging, swapping ports etc in order to get your computer to see it.

Okay I’ve just tried a different port and now it’s working!! I had tried that port twice before and nothing?
