Can’t run Dorico 6 because my license file is gone!

So, I have a legit copy of Dorico 5 Pro. I’m a former Finale user who came over (and I’m loving it).

When I try to install, open, or run Dorico 6, it fails to find the license file for Dorico 5. I am afraid that I deleted something I clearly should have left alone.

Thoughts? Can’t wait to use the new functionality.

Dorico 6 is a paid upgrade.

Let’s evacuate those obvious things first: you know that Dorico 6 is a paid update, right?

This keeps coming up because Steinberg did not make it totally obvious and just assumed everybody knows. Even I myself was tripped up by this.

It would almost be worth having a pinned topic about this.

You can run Dorico 6 in trial mode for 60 days.
It will be fully functional in that time.

You can only run Dorico 6 for 60 days if you request a trial license – it won’t just automatically run after installation.
