Can We Produce Negative Feedback with Any Of The Cubase Stock Plugins?

Can We Produce Negative Feedback with Any Of The Cubase Stock Plugins? I wanted to create negative feedback with Cubase’s stock Phaser plugin, but it only has positive values for the feed back knob. Does anybody know a way to do this with any of Cubase’s other stock plugins?

That knob controls the level of the feedback signal, there is no level below zero.

I think you create negative feedback by inverting the signal that’s being fed back into the original. I’m not aware of any phasers that do that, but I’ve also never looked. What are you trying to achieve?

Thanks for helping with this.

That knob can have positive and negative values allowing the user to dial in positive or negative feedback. Some plugins do have an invert button or option. Some examples of plugins with a negative and positive feedback knob are Phase Motion 2, the Feedback that is inside Rift by Minimal Audio, and the stock flanger in Logic Pro.

I’m not asking how to manually create negative feedback. I’m asking if cubase has a plugin that does this like the examples I named above. I’m trying to recreate a sound I made in another DAW that, I’m ashamed to say, I had to use until Cubase got rid of the dongle. Now that the dongle is gone I’m back and loving it!

Cubase is THE BEST and this is not a major issue at all. I have a 3rd party Phaser that allows negative and positive feedback values. I was just curious if anybody knew of a way to accomplish negative feedback with a Cubase Stock plugin.

Thanks again

Hi,

I think you are referring to feedback with inverted phase, right?
Cubase’s stock Phaser can’t do this but Blue Cat’s free Vintage Phaser can.

Hi,

Yes. Negative feedback is feedback with inverted phase. I wanted to know if this could be achieved with any of the stock cubase plugins. I already have third party plugins that can do it, but thanks for the recommendation. I appreciate your response.

Cubase’s stock phaser plugin is not a through zero phaser so negative modulation is not possible.

Thanks for the reply
