Can we reset layout/vertical spacing to Dorico defaults on an XML import?

My first try on exporting XML from Finale to Dorico. The resulting Dorico project has all sorts of collisions.

These sorts of collisions would occur in Dorico only if I had manually dragged them there while working on it in Dorico. Then to fix it, I could say ‘Reset layout’ in Engraver mode and/or click system handles in Staff Spacing window and hit delete. Right? But those commands don’t change a thing in this case. What do I do to fix this quickly without fiddling with individual staves? I tried playing with Vertical spacing in Layout options which did clear a few things, but not enough. What I’m really wondering is: Can we tell Dorico to just ignore all spacing decisions on this file and reset all spacings to it’s own defaults?

This includes redistributing the frames as well, I believe.

If you uncheck every setting in Preferences>MusicXML import then Dorico will use its own settings to layout the score, which should avoid any collisions.

Is it not possible to apply those settings after exporting? I’ve already done a lot of stuff since the export.

Unfortunately not true. Systems colliding as in the first screenshot happen somewhat easily in Dorico. It’s not the XML import doing it. I can link to Daniel‘s explanations of why this happens if you want. The solution is usually a carefully chosen frame break. I find it doesn’t even necessarily have to be at an existing (soft) system break.
