You can choose general beaming in Library > Notation options > Beam Grouping which then work automatically according to which you choose.
Otherwise override by selecting those notes, and right-click for Beaming options.

If you search here, there are other recommendations of how to learn Dorico, others might add to this thread.
First, it will depend on the time signature that you set; next, it will follow the Notation Options for Beam Grouping; and then you can make manual changes if necessary.
This is a fundamental rule for working with Dorico: start with the “global” controls, set the appropriate Options, and then do (hopefully a small amount of) manual adjustments, last.
