Cannot change duration of (last) loop

Hi, I cannot change the duration of the last loop in tracks.
change is possible at all loops if they are not the last one.

This happens to loops created in VST Live, and - more strange -
Import loops via drag&drop from Groove Agent. (it works, if there is another loop ‘after’ the imported pattern, but if the pattern is ‘the last in row’ it creates a lenght of 120 and more.

Any ideas? Thanks Christian

sorry 3.0.44

the last PART you mean, right? (that has been requested since V2, but it’s just a visual flaw for the very-very last PART…)

Hi @Christian_Cvrcek,

could you please provide some more details? What do you exactly mean by “last loop in tracks”? I just dragged a pattern from Groove Agent into VST Live as the very last event of a track (and the song) and changing its length worked as expected.

Thanks

Kai

Thanks for quick reply.
Here one example where I canot change duration. (Here whyever it says 5, I cannot change to 4).
The project was created with V 2.x (maybe V1)

Looks it happens with legacy projects- (I tested with a new project created in V3 and the Groove Agent import works - as you said). Any idea how to upgrade without loosing layer data? (I have 3 - 6 VST intruments in one part, each project 5 or more parts … )

@Christian_Cvrcek Did you try to save the song in VST Live 3 (under a new name perhaps)?

Hi Kai,

I tried to save unde new name, did not help.

Do you think the following will work?: (esp. individually configured VST intruments Arturia)
Export to media project.
Import to Cubase 15
Get the Cubase project back to VST 3

if the object data will be included (?? is it the case?) it might help to ‘rename’ all the VST objects and get rid of old links

??

thanks Christian

Oh, well, I just noticed one little detail: In your screenshot the Song End marker is set to 3.1.1.0. What happens if you set the End Marker to, let’s say, 15.1.1?

If your configuration only exists in VST Live, I wouldn’t bet vital body parts on that. The reason being, that this heavily depends on what your configuration includes. If those settings are part of a (saved!) plugin preset this could work.

However, that’s just guessing as we/I don’t your project/song. If setting the Song End marker doesn’t help, please get back to us again.

sorry, this does not help.
In this case it happened when I dragged the pattern from Cubase.
And then I had to change from 4/4 to 3/4 (but this is not the root cause I think). So the End is 1 bar after the pattern.

However - it is a legacy issue and it looks it works in V3 - so don’t spend too much energy on it. If there is no ‘short fix’ on exports I will do it by hand (takes about 5 h for the 3 impacted projects) so not that much.

Hi Christian,

I just loaded RtF (without V3 ). I can change the length of the one and only pattern on Track 1 as long as the cows come home. Same is true for any pattern I drag behind that initial pattern (I just did that from C15). So there’s something specific to your setup, I guess. I’ll nudge, err notify the devs anyway …

Thanks!
As I said - if I add a pattern behind it works, it happens only to the last pattern …
anyway - thanks for your help !!
