After updating to Cubase 15 I have found myself unable to export my mixdown with the metronome audio included. Previous to updating, I have never encountered this issue, I just enable the metronome, export an audio mixdown and I can here the click playing along with the music. I have tried opening previous versions of Cubase and am finding myself unable to export old projects with the metronome click enabled.
I desperately need some help in figuring out what may have changed or been rerouted or what I am doing wrong.
I have the metronome enabled when exporting, I have outputs for the click set to stereo out. I cannot for the life of me figure out what has changed.
I have include some screen shots of current settings and and how I am exporting.
I can confirm the click not being rendered to the mixdown even when sent to the stereo out as you shown in your pics.
But I also never used this feature before, so I can´t comment on if this is a changed behaviour.
Anyway you could always create a signature track and use the “render audio click between locators” feature if you want the click included in the mixdown:
I appreciate the workaround, but it’s definitely frustrating to have to take additional steps for something I was already able to do with less effort.
I don’t need to send a separate click most of the time, and I usually just embed it so there is no chance of something getting misaligned to a cue with a lot of changes.
I’m willing to accept that it’s possible I have somehow hallucinated this entire scenario and haven’t on occasions had to rebounce something in the past because I had the click left on.
But it reeeeeaaaallllyyyy feels like I tried to do this yesterday and my body just muscle memoried to “oh that’s how you do it” and I was very surprised I didn’t have the click in the audio mixdown. I can’t remember having ever rendered out the click when sending a track to someone where they requested I leave the click in the track.
It would really be appreciated if someone from Steinberg could confirm if I’ve just gone insane.
I’ve never seen the metronome click included in mixdown, and I’ve been using Cubase since the Atari days! The metronome is normally assigned to the control room bus. To be part of the mix It must be assigned to a group track, or midi-ed to a virtual instrument. Otherwise, render it. Logic, on the other hand, will annoyingly export the click if you forget to turn it off before mixdown.
