I am attempting to update Dorico to the latest release on a Mac. (OS 15.5).
I cannot run the download assistant because I cannot get past this page with the message shown. When I put in my log-in details I just get this message.
I am posting this here as there is no category in this forum for the download assistant (!)
I’ve seen this a couple of times. There may be a dialog box waiting for a response behind what you see.
Try “shift-tab” to switch between the apps. As it says here, you need to sign in — and the hidden dialog is probably waiting for a response!
No, neither of these seem to be the solution as there is no hidden dialogue box different from what I have already clicked on, and I already have the current version of the Download Assistant.
I’ve got this to work on another Mac recently so it is rather puzzling.
–Edit–
The solution was to uninstall the Download Assistant and re-download it. Even though it appeared to be the same version, there was something wrong with it.
I have the same issue. The download assistant didn’t work on my M1 MacBook Pro and it still isn’t working on a new M4 MacBook Pro (clean instal). I can instal the assistant and I’m connected with my account. But it doesn’t download anything. It seems to be very badly programmed.
Well, it worked perfectly on my 2013 Macbook pro when I first installed Dorico 1. And it worked in 2019 in a new macbookpro i9 by then. And this year, on my new M4 max, guess what? Everything installed perfectly. I guess it’s not that badly programmed. Something is causing problems on your system. Have you been able to install Dorico using the direct links? If so, please post the diagnostic files (Help menu in Dorico) here (nothing sensitive is there) so that one of the Steinberg experts can understand the problem and fix it!
