Cannot hear midi playback during precount.

When recording midi, I am unable to hear my VST instrument during the precount prior to recording. I can only hear the instrument once record has initiated. This only seems to be a problem if my left locator is right at the beginning of the project. If I move my left locator into the project to say bar 4, I can then hear the VST instrument during precount. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Hi,

It’s strongly recommended to start your song at the 2nd or the 3rd bar, not the very 1st one. Cubase behaves a bit unsafe on the very 1st bar (mainly from the timing point of view).

It’s kind of workaround for your issue, but you would solve two problems at once. :wink:
