I downloaded Dorico 5.1.51 through the download assistant. Then clicked on install. Now the installation is ‘in a loop’. I cannot get stop it… Even restart gives me the prompt "install in Process’. Force quit quits the download assistant but not the installation. How can I stop the installation. Thanks
Are you on Windows or macOS? I’m not sure I’ve encountered a problem like this before.
on Imac, Ventura 13.6.7
So you’re unable to restart your Mac, because it tells you an installation is in progress?
I’ve not had any experience with this problem myself, but there are many discussions about this on the Apple Support site. This one looks like it might be helpful:
Thanks Daniel, I saw that when I googled the problem. I had hoped that there was an easier remedy since I never had occasions where I needed to use such detailed commands.
Fortunately, there was an easy fix.
When I shut down the computer, I never wait the 59 seconds for the automatic shutdown. This time, I waited, surprisingly it did shut down without any prompts. I suppose there are some special codes within this automatic shutdown. After rebooting everything was fine.
Thank you for your quick response and help
