Has anyone successfully loaded Amplitube 5 as a VST in Cubase?
I installed and authorized Amplitube 5 on a new iMac using IK Product Manager. Then I attempted to load Amplitube as an insert in Cubase and it failed with a dialog saying “This plug-in has been moved to the blocklist. 32-bit plug-ins are no longer supported.”
Subsequent attempts to load Amplitube 5 in Cubase cause Cubase it to crash.
Setup:
- IK Product Manager 1.0.2.
- Amplitube 5
- Cubase 11 Pro
- macOS Catalina 10.15.7
- iMac 2020 5K
Hi,
Make sure, you install 64-bit version of the plug-in (only), please.
Could you attach the *.crash file, please?
Mac: macOS Console utility > User Reports folder or Crash Reports in macOS 10.15 (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).
Hi Martin,
The crash file is attached. There’s no 32-bit version of Amplitube 5, it is 64-bit.
Thanks,

Hi,
The crash is clearly in the AmpliTube5:

Please, get in contact with IK.
Hi Martin,
Thanks for your response. I am in touch with IK, of course, and they are investigating. Note that on the same machine I also have Ableton Live 10, and it loads Amplitube 5 just fine. So I have not ruled out the possibility that the problem is with Cubase.
Hi,
On Mac, Ableton is using AU plug-ins type, but Cubase is using VST plug-ins type. So it might be, the bug is in the VST version of the plug-in only.
