Just installed Cubase Pro 12 on a Mac mini m2 pro with Ventura OS .
I am getting the same error message with reverence that says ”cannot locate impulse response file: LA Studio.wav”
I checked the VST sound folder and none of these files are there:

FCP_SMT_005_Reverence_ImpulseLibrary_01.vstsound + FCP_SMT_005_Reverence_ImpulseLibrary_03.vstsound + FCP_SMT_005_Reverence_ImpulseLibrary_04.vstsound.

Can you please send me those files or tell me where I can download them from?

I’ve just installed Dorico and running into this problem. Honestly, the whole process of installation was riddled with errors. I’ve never had so much trouble getting a modern application to install (let’s say in the last 10 years).

  1. The download assistant gave a series of errors on launch (a new each time the previous one is resolved), asking me to visit a support page.
  2. I couldn’t download Dorico from the download assistant (it gives an error).
  3. The support page asks me to download 5 additional applications. But I still can’t download Dorico from the download assistant.
  4. The download assistant says it can’t update the ASIO driver, so I have to find that and manually download it (the 7th app I have to download individually)
  5. Still does not work, so I go find the manual Dorico installer file buried somewhere in support, along with the HALion VST and sound content.
  6. Dorico launches but complains about a missing component. Then the audio engine says it can’t find the Impulse Response file LA Studio.wav.
  7. I still can’t download Dorico through the download assistant. I’ve restarted many times, so it’s not that either.

Seriously, what’s going on? I’m asking as a software engineer. Don’t put your users through this. Make them download one or two installers, not 10.

I can close this window and get Dorico to play things, but it’s annoying that this window pops up every time I open the program. I’ve seen the problem reported elsewhere on the forum, apparently going back years. Wouldn’t it be easier to just fix this issue instead of having to send everyone some files privately, or at least prominently publish the solution on a dedicated support page instead of making users dig through a forum? I’m not trying to be sarcastic. I’d be willing to help you troubleshoot to find the solution. See below:

For what it’s worth, I do not have the Reverence Impulse library files (discussed in another thread) in the folder C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\Content\VST Sound. There are only the sound content files (14 of them) that get installed when you follow the manual installation instructions (which is my only choice, since the download assistant doesn’t work). (Sorry, the forum won’t let me post links!)

So apparently these files:

  • FCP_SMT_005_Reverence_ImpulseLibrary_01.vstsound
  • FCP_SMT_005_Reverence_ImpulseLibrary_02.vstsound
  • FCP_SMT_005_Reverence_ImpulseLibrary_03.vstsound
  • FCP_SMT_005_Reverence_ImpulseLibrary_04.vstsound
    are missing from the installation files on the page linked above.

I am now having this problem in Dorico 6.0.22.6052. Reinstall and repair did not fix it. It appears I’m missing FCP_SMT_005_Reverence_ImpulseLibrary_02.vstsound. I have 01, 03 & 04. Could you PM me with the missing file? Thanks.
