Cannot Output DMX Track To Light Fixture

Firstly, I have tested my fixture using DMXIS software to confirm that Ch1 is the dimmer & Ch2 is Red. It is set to the first DMX channel, confirmed via the DMXIS software.
So in VSTLP I have created a folder for a fixture, & inside that folder I have 2 DMX tracks - 1 for my fixture’s first channel (dimmer) & another (red) for it’s 2nd channel.
I have drawn some values in the bottom window for both Channel 1 & Channel 2
I have set the input for both DMX tracks to be DMX Mixer In.

  • If I set the output for the DMX tracks to “DMX Mixer Out” & open the DMX Mixer & play the track, I can see the faders move in the very basic way I have programmed when I play the track.
  • If I set the output for the DMX tracks to “DMX Visualiser Out” & select the Audience window, I can see some (basic) colour changes in the visualiser when I play the track.
  • If I set the output for the DMX tracks to “DMX: DMXIS” I get nothing coming out of the light fixture when I play the track…

Is there something obvious I am missing here?

… isn’t the DMXIS hardware only working with its own official software?

/Michael.

The DMXis interface hardware definitely works with the old Enttec software DMXis & I believe that it works with the newer Enttec software Emu (I have not tested that), though I thought that @musicullum mentioned that they used one with VST Live Pro, so I had assumed it was compatible, but thank you for suggesting that.

@musicullum , can you confirm if the Enttec DMXis interface works with VSTLP? Is this the cause of my issue, or should that hardware work?

It works for me with the upcoming VST Live version. You will probably have to install the EMU software (Entech). If it still refuses to work, we improved VST Live DMX support with the next version so give it another try then.

Thanks for that feedback @musicullum ! I’ll give it a shot with the new version when it is released.

I can confirm that the blue Enttec DMXis DMX interface unit does output light to the fixture in 1.1.52 . THANK YOU @musicullum ! My light fixture is actually switching on, so major step forward…
