Cannot record GA3 to track in Cubase 6.5

I cannot seem to be able to record GA3 to a midi track (i.e see the midi notes appear and record as it runs ).
I use Cubase 6.5 64 bit.
I used to able to do this easily but now not - I don’t know why.
I am aware that you cannot record the Special Agent and only the classic patterns.
I have chosen Groove Agent in the midi in and not connected on the midi out.
on Groove agent I have chosen Live to Host
Can someone please enlighten me? Many Thanks Steve

I seem to remember there’s an issue in this area with ga3 and 64 bit hosts - even though ga3 is a current-1 product steinberg seem to have abandoned all support for it which is unacceptable imho.
