Cannot record MIC input / routing issue

Hi there
I might be a newbie here but I am not able to route the USB main on my scarlett to the MIc input track to capture the audio from the microphone (plugged to the input 1 on the 8i6 Scarlett) - wondering why.
So the result is audio in USB works well but I cant drive the signal to the “vocal” track that I am supposed to record.

Enable the monitor button on the vocal track?

Is it really not recording, or are you just unable to hear the signal?
