When I click “Sign in”, it thinks for a few seconds and then returns to the same screen.
I have downloaded it numerous times. Sometimes I can find a place on the web site to launch it from there, and then it works - that is the ONLY time I can ever get into it, and I never am sure how that ever happens. Until now, I have only used Dorico, and am roughly up to date with it, BUT:
Now I have a new download access code for Cubase Elements from Focusrite, and I am having the same problem starting and signing in to the Steinberg Download Assistant.
No “Help” has ever told me to do anything that I have not already tried countless times.
BUT, somehow, for some reason I just stumble into a way to launch it from the web site.
HOW CAN I do this in a dependable, predictable manner???
Jim, I would check that you use the most up to date version of the download assistant:
Secondly, try to have an up to date browser. The Download Assistant will trigger a connection to a website. Sometimes, with an out of date browser this does not work. Also a window might be covered by the Assistant window, so you can’t confirm which has to be confirmed (“allow connection to…”).
Thanks. The key was really that on this particular computer I use Chrome, but it was not set as the default browser (because that is Firefox on all my other machines, as it was in this case) That caused the redirect you mentioned to be getting lost. NOW I don’t understand how it ever worked, oh well, it worked this time. I’ll see what happens next.
