I am trying to assign Shift+Return to a key command, but it only reads Return. So, it tells me “‘Return’ is already in use.”
It is strange, because it DOES read Shift+Return in the Press Key/Search Command, as it says “Key not in use - Shift + Return”
But it will not allow me to add it as a key command. Can anyone see if they can recreate this issue for me and find out if it isn’t just me? I’m on a Mac, btw - Nuendo 14.
Is there potentially any other app or MacOS setting that captures the Shift Return before it gets to Cubase?
If my memory is correct, I once had another background app configured to use a key combination that then became unavailable to Cubase, simply because it never made it to Cubase.
I just checked, and Shift+Return seems to be the default Key command for “macro->Extend Selection to Zero” (at least I am sure that I didn’t configure that), so it must be possible generally. I can also reassign that combination to another command without problems (Win11 here though).
So i either is a MacOS thing or at least another app that blocks this combination, as Nico5 suspects…
Hm, I can’t find it anywhere in MacOS Key Commands. What is interesting to me, though, is that when I try to enter it as a key command - it only reads “Return”. So it will tell me that “Return is already used as a key command”, so it isn’t even reading Shift+Return.
I’m not sure if that’s what it means. It is weird that it is reading just Return in that case. I would love for some other people who are using Mac OS to test this out and see if they are getting the same issue.
