Can't disable Rev-X

Howdy everybody,

I’ve run into a pretty silly issue and I suspect the answer is obvious… I am using Cubase 7.5 with Windows 8 and a UR824 interface.

For the life of me, I can’t disable Rev-X. I’ve tried through the UR824 control panel itself and within Cubase itself. In the UR824 control panel, the blue SEND button remains illuminated no matter what I do. In Cubase, Rev-X automatically engages whenever I create a new project. Neither the REV send buttons under the hardware tabs (in the inputs columns) or anything in the Hardware Setup window will turn it off. The on/off toggle button at the top left of the Rev-X settings window is also grayed out.

What the heck am I missing?

Thanks!
Thunderjacks

Hi Thunderjack

Have you checked your VST connections window, every so often mine defaults to the revX being the default output (under the output tab) for some reason and I have to load my setup(which is a saved preset). Is you problem that you hear the revx all the time?

Best Regards

Dave

BTW you should probably take this over to the UR824 Forum:-)

Thanks, Dave. You’re probably right about the sub-forum… I’ll move it if I the mystery persists after a few days. (…or if a mod would like to do so, by all means…)

VST outputs are as they should be. Correct, the issue is that none of the obvious functions/buttons that are normally supposed to turn off Rev-X will listen to me. I’m wondering if there is some setting somewhere that is doing the overriding. It’s pretty peculiar.

Hi Thunderjack

Are you hearing reverb all the time, or only on the live recording input channels or?,just trying to get a picture of where you’re hearing it from and when…

Dave

It affects only the live recording channels. It’s quite baffling, because the on/off buttons are readily visible in a number of different windows, yet none of them will actually switch it off.

Hmm…

Hi again Thunderjack

Do you see the “Hardware” tab in the Mixer, that’s where the "level"for the revx send is

Dave

Is it possible that you are in fact not hearing the Rev-X of the Hardware, but rather the Rev-X plugin being used - because you’re using a Template that you didn’t realize was using Rev-X?
