Either I’ve become dumber, or this isn’t intuitive as it could, because I figured out Bulk Rename Utility pretty fast.
What I want is for multiple files,
Original File Name Retained For Each File + Addendum added as part of the batch process
What ever I try, it just ends up as
“[renamed].wav” in the output preview
Does it not give a name preview for each file? Or am I doing it wrong?

“[renamed]” is a code to show that WaveLab knows it will have to do renaming, but at this stage, it can’t preview it. But if you run the batch processor, the renaming will eventually happen.
If your unique task is to rename files, use the dedicated file renaming tool which will give you a preview.

Interesting.
No way to generate a preview before doing the process?

In WaveLab 12, the batch renaming preview doesn’t show individual file names—[renamed].wav just indicates renaming will occur. The actual names are applied when you run the batch. For a true preview, use a dedicated renaming tool like Bulk Rename Utility.

Thanks
BRU was typically what I use.

WaveLab has a batch renaming tool with preview too.
I’d used that the other day, I didn’t see a preview anywhere… I’ll take another look. It was late.
@PG1 Perhaps if something similar to my idea for Advanced Preview Window is ever incorporated, name preview could be achieved here:
Interesting, I’ll take a mental note of this.
Usually when I’m interested in batch processing at least for my current use cases, i’m dealing with more than 20 fules.
If my advanced preview idea was implemented, some other useful features:
Search Filter, to find specific files to compare.
Side by side waveform preview, overlay waveform preview
Metaplugin preview (essentially it runs the process as if it was doing a render, but takes care of autodeleting if the user chooses not to use the prev…

This happens at the very last stage, before actual renaming, in a preview window.
