I figured out how to make the notehead invisible and moving the half note over as in the picture, but in engrave mode, with the properties panel open, there is supposed to be a hide notehead button under notes and rests, I don’t see it. Maybe not available for MAC? Thanks for any help, Cheers.
If your aim is to automatically get this:
there is a Notation Option:
Or if you don’t want it as a global (per-flow) option, you can also just select the half note and turn on “Voice Column Index” in Engrave Mode (it will then be set to 0 and both notes will overlap).

Thanks so much, the voice column index works for this particular instance but still wondering where that “hide notehead” button is.

Don’t you find it at the end of the Notes and Rests section, as @TonH was explaining?

And, it is only in Properties when you are in Engrave mode.

Thanks Steven, I just realized to get to the bottom of the list I have
to scroll sideways. Yes, you can laugh, I am.
