Can't get an audio signal into Cubase or Wavelab

Hi guys,

A merry Christmas to you all!

I’m setting up Cubase and Wavelab on a MacBook. Both ‘Pro’, and version 12 for both I think. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, but I can’t seem to get an audio signal into either of them.

I’m using a UR44C interface, with the dspMixFx software. I can see the incoming signal in the dspMixFX mixer, so it’s coming into the Mac, it just doesn’t seem to be getting to the applications if that makes sense. In Wavelab there’s just nothing, regardless of selecting the correct interface and bus etc. Cubase shows the UR44C in the inspector, and I can see the levels of the incoming audio. But it’s not coming through to the audio track so I can’t record.

First thing to check would be Mac microphone privacy settings.
