Can't get EnttecDMX USB PRO running

If I setup the device it will be announced as “DMX USB PRO”with Serial EN504596

Connected, but no protocol is offered.

Any chance to setup a protocol?

in QLight Controller Plus the interface works perfectly and I can select multiple protocols.

Thanks in advance 4 help

hi! use search in forum, I remember there was a few topics mentioning, it should work, no worries  Just use search for solutions

Hi fkalmus,

sorry, I found one post regarding exactly to my problem , of Fredrich_Legnemark (https://forums.steinberg.net/t/dmx-problems-enttec-dmx-usb-pro/1008224/2) but the issue is not solved as far as I see.
Next time I will check recent posts better.

HI @Blister5,

can you give us link to your hardware so we can see which dmx device (exactly) you are working with?

Thank you,
Michael.

Hi Michael,

thank you for your support.
You find pics of the interface in a separate email.
I bought the interface at Thomann. It was delivered on 31.12.25.

Wenn das nicht ins offizielle Forum geht, könne wir uns auch in D verständigen.
Sag an was du willst.qw

Danke nochmal.

Clemens

Hi Michael,

as I noticed I have to go on in English.
Are my pictures enogh for furher investigations?
You need anything more?

Thoank you, Clemens

Hello @Blister5,

that’s your one?

This device does not need a Protocol. So, your “DMX Setup” should like this :

CONNECTED is “YES”? Does the USB Device has a green light? Does it blink green?

Fine. Now, select TRACKS, add a DMX Track and select for the OUTPUT the “DMX USB PRO”.

For some “experience”, select the “DMX Mixer In” for your Input device.

To send the DMX-Events from the DMX Mixer to to your “DMX USB PRO” Output device, we need to enable the Monitor Control (orange).

Now move some faders of the DMX Mixer and events will be sent to your device.

Working?
Michael.

Hi Michael,

Thank you, I got it. My fault in thinking was

that once I setup the output device, the internal DMX mixer
starts to work. Finally I got it work.

But:

I think I found a bug see below.

I am working with Win 11.

4me there are some things that confuse me.
Just for checking out the system I have to setup a track.

Easier would be: Set up under Devices/Connections the input DMX Mixer in and output DMX USB Pro
and the slider in the DMX start to work. They don’t.

So

I followed your directions:

If I set up a DMX track and on the left side the inputs outputs are correctly shown,
and I switch the orange connection sign on,

VST2: Sliders are working. As you described.

VST3.0 10.88: Setting up procedure as in VST 2, moving the sliders of the MNX mixer does not show any effect.

After noodling with all buttons I got the
problem.

Once you are setting up in the insp field the correct in’s and out’s,
The master slider of Track 1 is shown on 100%.
But it is on 0%, so the sliders in the DMX mixer are dead.
If you move this slider and press the orange button it will work like in VST 2.

Another thing is if you setup the input device of the system the left arrow appears blue,
if you setup the output device the right output arrow remains dark (same in VST 2). Should be blue as well, I suggest.

Best regards

Clemens

Can you try that “bug” above with 3.0.14?

Thanks,

You are really fast!

Now it works equal to VST 2.
If appropriate, add my other suggestions to the wish-list, please.
Maybe a default setup of tracks with previously defined interfaces would be a possible way.

Thanks again,

Clemens
