I’m having a bit of an issue with my audio. Whenever I play an instrument via midi, no sound seems to come out. I know that Cubase has definitely registered the input and sent it to Kontakt because sound seems to be coming out of both Kontakt and Cubase, I just can’t hear it. Anyone know the issue?
Which Cubase version are you using?
Are you using the Control Room?
In the Audio Connections, have you assigned an output from your audio interface to the stereo output (without CR) or the monitor output (with CR)?
Hi, I’m using Cubase artist 13, I’m not using the control room because I don’t have pro, and I’m not using an audio interface I’ve plugged my speakers directly into the computer.
You probably have an audio interface in your computer. Is an ASIO driver installed for it? What does the Studio Setup window in Cubase show? It should look something like this:
On Windows if you don’t have any audio interface it’s usually better to run a third party audio driver than use the generic low latency driver (which isn’t remotely low latency even when it does work)
Try to download and install ASIO4all
Then open Cubase and in the same dialogue you show us choose ASIO4all as ASIO driver on the right hand dropdown. It will probably work automatically but if not then open the audio connections window and check you have outputs assigned for your stereo out.
I made a (1) Bar midi bass line. Then I copied it a dozen times to play along with it and the SOUND ends after the first BAR although the LEVEL on the MIX jumps with the output. Why doesn’t it produce sound from Bar 1 thru bar 12 is a mystery.
Your sound card has no inputs, so it’s in vain to try to make a connnection. The interesting thing would be the OUTPUTS, which we can’t see in your video unfortunately. So, please…
Hi, so I looked in the outputs and selected the drive and the issue is now resolved. Seems so simple now that I know where the issue was, thanks for guiding me there.
