I have saved my score in Finale as an xml file and I am trying to export it to Cubase 11 Pro. When I open the ‘Import’ dialogue in Cubase, the xml file becomes invisible in the folder where it is located, as if its format is not supported by Cubase. Are there any restrictions (in terms of file properties) to the xml files that can be imported into Cubase?
Issue solved! Be careful when you choose the xml TYPE of your exported file in Finale! There are 3 options: compressed *mxl (default), MusicXML *musicxml and XML *xml. Cubase recognizes only THE THIRD TYPE - *xml. If you have saved your Finale score as a *xml file, Cubase will have no problem importing it.
