Can't install update 8.0.20

Hi!

I’m running Windows 8.1 64-bit and are having problems installing the 8.0.20 update (Only the 32-bit version, 64-bit installed fine).

Getting this error message every time i try to install the update:

“The file ‘VSTPlugManager.dll’ cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in the cabinet file ‘PCW_CAB_Pt8020’. This could indicate a network string, a string reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.”

Have tried repairing the original install of cubase 8, making a complete reinstall, running the microsoft Fixit utility and also redownloading the update file with no success. Getting that same error message every time.

When opening the installer file in 7zip i can locate the ‘VSTPlugManager.dll’ file inside ‘PCW_CAB_Pt8020’, but the installer still says it can’t find the file.

Anyone have a clue as to what is going on?

Yeah, have tried that. Same problem

always install updates, etc as “run as administrator” (right click) if you havent already.
aside from that advice seems one for steinberg support.

Yeah, I always do that. Have sent a support ticket to steinberg, would be great if someone maybe had the same issue and knew of a fix :slight_smile:
