Hi,

Aren’t the events/parts locked? Or the tracks by any chance?

Hi,

Could you try in the Cubase Safe Start Mode [Disable preferences], please?

Or you can try to backup your Preferences folder (by renaming it) and start Cubase with the factory settings. In this case, I would recommend to:

  • Rename all your Cubase preferences (i.e. Cubase 12, Cubase 11, Cubase 10…). If you do so, you won’t get factory settings. You would get the preferences migrated from the previous Cubase version instead.
  • You should rename the preferences to “_Cubase 12” or “_currentDate_Cubase 12”. Don’t rename it as “Cubase 12_”. If you change the name after “Cubase 12”, Cubase might use the preferences anyway.

Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% Steinberg/Cubase X_64

where x is the Cubase version. For example Cubase 12.

thx ill try
but whats in there can make the issue?

not solved… and i even gave up all the Preferences (not copy anything except the templete)
i delete all and start all from sthe start

I understand that you try to understand the situation. Honestly, nobody knows why the things happen that happen on your machine.
What you can do, however, is to take the advice with the preferences. It has helped many other people before with weird issues.

If that does not help - I once had a project where one particular midi part showed a similiar behaviour as what you have; and it seemed to happen when there was a certain track in the project.
My solution was to remove that track and create a new one. That solved it for me. Maybe you need to do something similiar.

Cubase is really weird at times.

not solved…
