Can't pan

I was going to send a project to a studio to mix better than I can and was told stereo files were redundant and would be deleted, so I had several that were rendered with the default and became stereo, and so I converted them and deleted the extra tracks. I had wanted to just merge the stereo into one mono, but that wasn’t a choice, just creating left and right tracks.

For some reason, 2 are able to be panned. while 4 others have pan off and I can’t move the ball to the middle or anywhere. What happened?

Weird. I went to an earlier version of the project, and split there and the 2 tracks have working pans. Then I came back to the present project and re-enable the original midi track to try rendering with different settings, and it’s always stereo. Mix to one audio file is grayed out.

Typically that occurs when a Stereo Track is Routed to a Mono destination.

Off topic, but that seems pretty harsh from the studio. They can tell you what they prefer, but you’re their customer & if what you’ve got are stereo files they should just smile and deal with it.

Did you convert them from the project tab in the menu bar or just the render menu?

It was the project tab. But I just did it over again and this time they were panable, so deleted the others.
