PS - this is rich - With a Scarlett USB 8i6, on Sequoia, without changing any settings, I can’t record Audio in 13. But I can in 12. . I open in 13, a project previously created in 12, and tried to create and record a track. No go. So I tried to record over a previously created track and still no go. So I go back to 12, open the SAME project and it records perfectly. Then I close 12, re - open the SAME project in 13, and there is the track I just recorded. And I still can’t record on that track. I didn’t change anything after I created the track in 12 and the in / out routing is the same in 12 and 13… And I can record in Garage Band, too.
Hi,
Make sure Cubase 13 has enabled Mic in the System Preferences, please.
Open macOS System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Microphone. Enable Cubase here.
If you’re on a Mac, I’d try Martin’s advice. Worked for me.
Sorry, when I tried to edit the original post something jammed, so I had to delete and repost —
I found the control panel, and, indeed C13 is off but C12 is on. But the path is a bit different for Sequoia- It’s (top menu)> Apple logo>system settings>privacy and security> microphone…
And it works - much thanks…
Way to go, Apple. Proves how invaluable the DAW community is for them. Has tripped up 1000’s of people working with music on Mac.
Hi,
This is not about DAW only. The same setting is needed for any appllication using a sound source (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, …).
