Can't Unlock LE 3 Demo

Hi,

Can I also get this tip? because i’ve got same problem as @rousep with my Numa Compact 2x…

Hi @m_w_pl,

Thanks for your message, and welcome to the Cubasis forum!

Can I also get this tip? because i’ve got same problem as @rousep with my Numa Compact 2x…

As a first step, please make sure Cubais LE has access to the microphone.

Starting Cubasis LE the very first time, a popup asking your permission to use the microphone appears, which has to be accepted.

If you tapped “no” by accident, please change the setting manually as follws:

• Please go to the iPad settings
• There please go to Privacy / Microphone
• Please make sure to enable Microphone use with Cubasis LE

Once done, these are the steps to unlock Cubasis LE from demo mode:

• Launch Cubasis LE
• Connect a supported audio device to the iPad

After a short moment, a message should appear that Cubasis LE has successfully unlocked Cubasis LE from demo mode.

Hope that helps!

Best wishes,
Lars

Hi. I’m having the same problem with the UR22 Mkii. I’m using the overpriced Apple connector. The interface is showing in the settings but demo mode doesn’t unlock. I have done all of the above multiple times with the same result. The interface power light is on and I can hear my mic back through monitoring. Please help!! Nigel

Hi @nigelchatfield2,

Please find my reply in your previous message:

Hello,

I’m having the same issue activating Cubasis LE 3 using my iPad Air 2020 along with the Audient EVO 8 interface. It doesn’t activate even though I tried reconnecting several times.

Hi @gdcsolis,

Thank you for your message and welcome to the Cubasis forum!

I’m having the same issue activating Cubasis LE 3 using my iPad Air 2020 along with the Audient EVO 8 interface. It doesn’t activate even though I tried reconnecting several times.

Unfortunately, Audient has chosen their iD4 + and EVO 4 devices to unlock Cubasis LE from demo mode. You may get in touch with them, to let them know that you would like to see your device supported as well!

Here is the list of supported devices to unlock Cubasis LE from demo mode.

Best wishes,
Lars

Hello guys. I registered a new Audient iD14 MKII, connected to my iPad Pro 3rd Gen, installed Cubasis 3 LE, and it runs in DEMO mode. The Audio Interface was recognized, I’m able to play the DEMO song and hear it through my headphones connected to the iD14, but I can’t save my recordings and it only runs for 30 minutes. According to the product description, it should be free when this device is connected to any iPad Pro with Cubasis 3 LE.

Even in the following video, the staff shows the steps to use Cubasis 3 LE with an Audient iD4, the little brother of my recent purchase (iD14).

Hi @Cyberpunker,

Thanks for your message and welcome to the Cubasis forum.

It is in the decision of our hardware partners, what audio devices they choose to be supported, to unlock Cubasis LE from demo mode.

Please note that our friends from Audient have chosen their iD4 and EVO 4 devices to be compatible and useable, to unlock Cubasis LE from demo mode.

Please see all listed of supported devices to unlock Cubasis LE from demo mode, on our Cubasis LE website.

Hope that helps!

Best,
Lars

I have the same problem as @rousep and @m_w_pl with the Cubasis Le 3 - Numa Compact 2 detection. I tried several times exactly following your description. Yes, Microphone is enabled (from beginning, but also checked again).
I have 2 Numa Compact (2 and 2x). Neither of them succeeds to unlock the demo mode. Please help!

Thanks, Johannes

Hi @joha,

Thank you for your message.

The Cubasis LE unlock steps are pretty simple and straightforward:

• Launch Cubasis LE
• Connect a supported audio device to the iPad

If your problems persist, I suggest to exchange with our friends at studiologic, to make sure the Numa devices itself are properly connected to the iOS device. Furthermore, they should be able to re-check and confirm the Cubasis LE unlock to work as expected with the Numa devices.

Please keep me updated about the progress.

Hope that helps!

Thanks,
Lars

Hi Lars,

Thanks for reply. The NC 2 and the NC 2x are both well connected to my iOS devices (iPad & iPhone) in lots of music apps. Even Cubasis LE 3 is detecting NC2 and NC2x. In the attachment you can see that Cubasis has registered the two Numa Keyboards and at the right side there is still the demo countdown. That should not be, or?

However, I take contact to Studiologic in parallel.

Best, Johannes

Hi @joha,

Thanks for your message.

It should be the best thing to get in touch with Studiologic. They should be easily able to double check the issue with the given Numa devices.

Best,
Lars

@LSlowak
Hi Lars,

Studiologic already replied (see below). They assume a bug in Cubasis. I fear it will take a longer time until the Cubasis is debugged and the update is availlable in the appstore. I would appreciate a lot, if you could provide me in the meantime an ad hoc access to Cubasis LE 3 (e.g. a promotion code), so I can already start to work with Cubasis.

Thanks, Johannes

Dear Johannes,

This is probably a Cubasis LE bug.
I’ll personally contact Steinberg to make sure they prioritize fixing this issue.

Hi @joha,

Please have a look at the private message, I’ve sent to you.

Alongside, I’ve contacted Studiologic to give the issue a further check.
As of yet, we are unable about any Cubasis LE unlock problems.

Thanks,
Lars

I recently bought an AUDIENT iD4 and then tried connecting it to CUBASIS LE 3 via USB-C to USB-C provided in the AUDIENT iD4 box to my very new iPAD PRO M1.
NO… it did not recognise the device.
And i can’t seem to get the settings to change from iPad Microphone to iD4.
PLEASE ASSIST.
If it can’t be solved, I would just sell it off and get a iRIG pro

Hi @drbenbassist,

Here is a tutorial provided by Audient, to learn more how to setup the Audient iD4 with an iOS device.

Once done, these are the steps to unlock Cubasis LE from demo mode:

• Launch Cubasis LE
• Connect a supported audio device to the iPad

After a short moment, a message should appear that Cubasis LE has successfully unlocked Cubasis LE from demo mode.

Does this help to immediately resolve your problem?

Best wishes,
Lars

I presume you have the MkII version of the iD4?

If you keep Cubasis out of the equation, does the iD4 work (as an audio out device)? I mean use it with a standalone iPad synth, or even playing Youtube for example. Your iPad Pro should be able to provide enough power to power the iD4. If you can’t get it to work without Cubasis (or YouTube), I would suggest to check with Audient first. This is a Class compliant interface with a USB-C port and afaik Audient specifically stated it should work out of the box with iPads with USB-C ports (which are the iPad Pro’s).

I would also try another USB-C (data) cable. Are you sure you have the correct cable? Specific charge cables don’t always have the needed data wires connected.

Yeah, this too! It’s so easy to forget, because Apple’s cryptic popup. They should say it also means other audio input devices, not just the internal mic.

Purchased an Audient iD14 MK11 and created an account with Steinberg. Have been unsuccessful in getting Cubaisis LE 3 to authorize on 2021 iPad Pro (M1). iD14 is plugged in directly via USB C and is outputting Cubaisis demo track through iD14 (microphone access is also enabled in privacy settings)

Hi @Sooty,

Thanks for your message.

Please note that Audient have chosen to bundle their iD4 + and EVO 4 audio devices with Cubasis. Unfortunately the iD14 is not on the list of supported devices.

Hope that helps!

Stay safe,
Lars
