Anybody else getting this when trying the beta? I know not strictly a Dorico dev thing but interested in User response -
It says to choose a part, but there are no parts in the drop down…
The three dots at top right opens Settings. It is Connected and Activated?
You have clicked on a vocal stave in Play?
Yep - I think I worked it out - I was trying to change it on the VST/MIDI menu instead of on the part itself.
Side note though - all of the renderings are coming out at different speeds. Wondering if the devs read this?
You need to assign the Cantai plug-in you’ve added to the rack in the VST & MIDI panel to an instrument in the Track Inspector panel. Once you’ve made that assignment, you’ll be able to choose the corresponding “part” in Cantai’s window.
Cantai’s developers do not monitor the Dorico forum. You need to report problems with Cantai directly to them. (I don’t think this should be a surprise to you.)
It is not - thanks for your help Dan
yes, I’m not sure if there are people trying this out who have simply not followed the activation procedure. It’s important to realise that there is a slight time lag before connection – it doesn’t do it immediately if you just go into the Track Inspector. Safest seems to be to exit, go and select something in the relevant vocal line in Write mode and then go back into the Track Inspector. I’ve never had issues this way.
Yes : I’d had the same problem and got the same fix recommended in a different post yesterday.
I’d guess that many people, like myself, are unfamiliar with the control-4 “play” part of Dorico. . It’s simply not part of the software I’ve ever used before.
I’m still stuck on setup: “Cannot reach the local Cantai server. Please start it and try again.”
I have made a Cantai account and am putting in the token from my profile.
Has anyone else had this happen?
Finally fixed it by downloading Cantai again and reinstalling.
