Hello, I’m back with my subscription questions here, because they don’t giveme proper answers in Cantai’s discord, sorry. I purchased a Cantai annual plan for Dorico last November. There’s currently an offer for a perpetual license. The chatbot on the Cantai page told me I didn’t have to pay anything. But my license still shows as needing to be renewed next November. Who should I believe? I want the perpetual license: do I have to pay the full amount? Just the difference? Nothing? I’m confused! Help! Thanks a lot!
Greg
I think this has to be answered by the Cantai folks, but maybe give them a little time for things to settle down. It sounds like you should be able to download and use the software and have until November to work out the exact licensing.
Agree with @asherber . Use the chat bot on the Cantai page and tell it no when it asked if it answered your question and you will get an email address. Send your inquiry to that email address asking Richard DeCosta your question.
Hi,
On 16 of April 2026, I used the live chat on their page. I was asked to leave my contact details so I could receive a reply, which I did. I never received a reply. I also tried contacting them via Discord, but that didn’t work either. Now the offer has disappeared. It was 150€, now it’s 299€. I’m really p***** off.
I can understand the frustration, although if I had done that, most of my ire would be at myself when I realized I should have checked back when no reply came and the deadline approached. I’ve been there.
Same here. When I was younger, I used to expect folks to promptly reply to me and because of that I lost out on a lot of things. With age comes wisdom so now I “touch base” regularly by reaching out for an update if I have not heard back from others especially on time sensitive things.
My experience with Richard is that he is very responsive. I interacted with him via e-mail and received a response in less than 24 hours when I am certain he was very busy preparing the Cantai for Dorico roll out. The emails usually come from Turing Opera as the sender and can get lost in junk mail if one is not careful.
Yeah, me too! In one of my many vocations I was a buyer for an international chemical company. I found it incredible that I had to chase after salesmen who worked on commission instead of them following through on a big order!
