It looks like you have created a Rack Instrument instead of an Instrument Track. Remove the Rack Instrument.

In the project window, right-click anywhere on an empty space within the track header and chose Delete Track from the dialogue.

As I mentioned. The VST Instrument folder is created, when you add a Rack Instrument, instead of an Instrument Track.
If there are any Rack Instruments in the project, you can’t delete the folder. You have to Remove the Rack Instruments first. Then you can delete the folder.
