CB 14 Can't save Project_Write protect error

Hi, I’ve just upgraded to CB 14 from 13. (Win 10) and I’ve encountered an issue.
When I try to save a project to my internal ssd (File>Save as…), I get an error message saying
" The project could not be saved, because; The media is write protected. No new project could be created"
I’ve double checked the drive properties and it isn’t write protected as far as I can tell. I’ve also saved the project to my desktop successfully and then copied and pasted it to on to the ssd to test this. I have also tested saving to other drives and this works fine. I’ve also saved to the drive from a different type of app (Photoshop) and this also saves to the drive without any issue.
The really odd thing is, as part of my troubleshooting exercise, I tried to see if the same thing happened in CB 13. I performed a ‘Save as…’ from CB 13 to same same drive and the same error occurs. This has only just started happening, it didn’t occur the last time I used it a couple of days ago. I’m at a loss for ideas on how to resolve this. I appreciate that this may not be a Cubase issue, but I’d be grateful if anyone can offer any suggestions please?. Thanks

Try to open Cubase with administrator rights and see if this does the trick.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately this hasn’t worked. It’s a real puzzle as to why i can write to the disk by saving from any other app but Cubase. I’ve only noticed this behaviour since i installed CB 14 last night. That’s not to say it wasn’t there before though of course. Another headbanger

Did you rename the project when testing to write to the desktop?

Hi Alex, yes I tried both renaming the file and not. To be honest it looks like the ssd has gone rogue. Very strange behaviour though
