I have read numerous posts on this forum about Cubase locking up, crashing and failing to open a project. I had a project recently that would not open that I had worked on for hours the day before. I suspected it was a plugin issue and I was right. I got it to open by simply renaming (disabling) a suspected plugin in the VSTPlugins folder. It was a linear phase EQ.
I have played around with lots and lots of plugins and it seems that many that use “FIR” (linear phase) filters cause problems in CB6.
Why would that be?
Keep this in mind if you are having trouble with crashes, opening/closing, etc. Could be the plugins you are using.
