[CBT-1273] Midi clock out is not keeping time properly

Summary

Using midi clock output from C3 I see BPM being sent is inaccurate on the panel of my beat step pro (hardware).

Description

Connect iPad to Beatstep pro using camera connection kit.

Set C3 to send midi clock.

Set Beatstep to receive clock via usb

Press play.

Expected results

See same bpm on BSP as on Cubasis.

Actual results

Bpm is occasional matching, but jumps around, but most of the time is incorrect, out by a number of bpms

Similar syncing with AUM is good.

Environment

C3, iPad Pro2, ios13.2.2

I want to use Cubasis with external kit but if the clock isn’t accurate (and it doesn’t do start / stop which is another issue) I will have to use something else :frowning:

Hi d4d0ug,

I want to use Cubasis with external kit but if the clock isn’t accurate (and it doesn’t do start / stop which is another issue)

it’s on the list for the next update:

“CBT-1273 Cubasis 3 is not sending MIDI Clock start/stop from the transport Buttons”

and midi clock should work accurate with external devices when CBT-1273 is fixed.

best regards
Jan

Ok cool, looking forward this fix soon hopefully!

Is there a reason why we can’t set transport/clock of cubasis to an external source?

Hi Adam_72,

No, there is no reason and must be fixed in the next update.
Sorry for your circumstances, it’s on the list.

greetings
Jan

Thank you. This is a vital feature that I would happily pay for in cubasis 3.

There are option and different desirable ways of introducing this:

Sync to external clock AND transport

Sync to ext transport

Sync to ext clock

Sync to song position

All of them have their uses in the hardware world.

Again I would request that once this feature is made available announce it as a headline and I will insta buy.

Until then I have to stick it out with BeatMaker 3.

Hi Adam_72,

It is managed to have this fixed with the next update.

best
Jan
