CC1 data causing CPU spikes/crackling

I’m having a problem with CPU spiking and audible crackling when modwheel data is used with an Acoustic Guitar AU plugin (Ilya Efimov) in Kontakt v5.3 in Cubase v7.5.2. It seems to be project-specific.

PROBLEM INFO:

  • The problem occurs with both real-time modwheel input and manual CC1 data entry
  • The problem does NOT occur in Kontakt stand-alone mode
  • Loading the Guitar AU onto a new track in a new Cubase project ELIMINATES the problem
  • The AUDIO export file does NOT include the audible crackling…it seems to only occur with DAW playback

WHAT I’VE TRIED AND WAS UNSUCCESSFUL IN FIXING PROBLEM:

  • Computer/Cubase/Project restart
  • Purge/Reload Samples
  • Disable ASIO Guard
  • Change CoreAudio buffer sizes

MY SYSTEM:

  • 2012 iMac QC 2.9GHz 24GB RAM
  • Cubase 7.5.2
  • UAD Apollo Twin Duo
  • Yamaha KX88 MIDI Keyboard/Controller
  • M-AUDIO Axiom 49 MIDI Keyboard/Controller

Thanks for your thoughts,

I have the exact same problem with the same instrument as a vst. No solution for me, went back to using Real Guitar.
