In Nuendo 15 on mac Studio M3 Ultra/Tahoe, MIDI CC1 sent from a Behringer X-Touch Compact over USB does not reach MIDI or Instrument tracks. Other CC messages from the same X-Touch USB connection work normally.
The same X-Touch Compact sending CC1 over USB works correctly in Nuendo 14 on the same Mac.
Tests performed:
• Nuendo 14 + X-Touch USB CC1 → MIDI/Instrument track: WORKS
• Nuendo 15 + X-Touch USB CC1 → MIDI/Instrument track: DOES NOT WORK
• Nuendo 15 + X-Touch USB CC11 and other CCs → track: WORKS
• Assigning CC1 to a different physical X-Touch fader → DOES NOT WORK
• X-Touch CC1 via physical 5-pin MIDI instead of USB → Nuendo 15 track: WORKS
• Roland RD-800 CC1 via USB/MIDI → Nuendo 15 track: WORKS
• Explicitly selecting X-TOUCH COMPACT as the track MIDI input rather than All MIDI Inputs → DOES NOT WORK
• X-Touch USB CC1 → Nuendo 15 MIDI Remote → plugin parameter: WORKS
Therefore Nuendo 15 is receiving the CC1 message from the X-Touch USB port, but that message appears not to reach the normal MIDI/Instrument-track input path.
Troubleshooting already performed:
• Removed MIDI Remote user mappings/settings
• Tested a new empty project
• Initialized Nuendo 15 preferences
• Initialized preferences while also hiding Nuendo 13 and Nuendo 14 preferences to prevent preference migration
• Completely reinstalled the Nuendo 15 application
None changed the behavior.
As a workaround I tested changing the X-Touch to CC2 and using a Transformer MIDI Insert to convert CC2→CC1. This successfully drives the VST instrument as CC1, but the recorded MIDI event is CC2 (Breath) and is only transformed during playback. This is unsuitable for my workflow because I routinely deliver recorded MIDI parts to clients.
Nuendo 14 on the same computer with the same X-Touch continues to work correctly.
Could you please confirm whether there is any Nuendo 15 MIDI input filtering/routing mechanism that could selectively consume CC1 from a USB MIDI device while still allowing that CC1 to reach MIDI Remote?
