I need to create grace note for broken chords on cello where the lower part are open III-IV strings and upper part is in treble clef.
Here’s a stub project.
Cross-staff grace note.dorico (552.6 KB)
First bar is starting material, second bar is what I did to get closer to what I need. The source creates a gap between the two grace notes so I need to reproduce that (also Kodaly Sonata does this, FWIW).
My plan is then to “hide” either by colour or my scale the short rest following the grace note.
Is this the best and/or only approach available for this?
I could think of tuplets but the piano needs to be aligned as well and it may be too cerebral. Tagging @PjotrB as a fellow cellist (hope you don’t mind!)
Thank you!
