An old MusicXML import has produced a lot of the lyrics in italics (because the text was not interpreted as lyrics with a verse number as can be seen from the screenshot) and I’m wondering if by now there may be some way to quickly and easily change all of this to the standard lyrics mode which I may have overlooked?
It looks to me that it’s been interpreted as chorus (that’s what the c means in the popover).
So either change your Library>Paragraph styles>Lyrics chorus to a non-italic font, or select all your lyrics and move them to a different lyric line.
Select All.
Filter > Lyrics.
Then set everything to Verse 1, unchecking “Chorus” in the Properties panel.
of course – all I needed to do was to remove the tick from chorus. So simple when you know how! Many thanks to you both.
