Change audio recording default format

I’m having trouble finding the place where i can specify the recording bit depth within WL using the transport record function.

using the transport record, WL instantly starts recording and saves in the project’s data folder- this is perfect. But ive found that the resulting recorded files are 32 bit, and since my converter tops at 24 I’m looking to adjust that to save the disc space.

I’ve found that i can change the recording bit depth in the record window, but then its a bit more work with naming files and specifying location, and its not an instant punch in.

any ideas? thanks!

I understand you are recording so-called temporary files (no name specified at the start). Right?
In that case, the choice is either 32 or 64 bit float. There is no option for 24 bit file.

But since you are going to save the file later (since it is temporary), you can specify 24 bit at that time, and even have a file format preset for this.

The temporary file disappears then, and you recover the disk space.
