Dorico 6.3.2 user here. My use of chord symbols is exclusively Local, as I’m in the habit of writing different voicing for guitar vs. piano, for instance.
Is there a way to change the default chord symbol input to local, such that when I press ‘shift-Q’ the local button is automatically selected, without me needing to hit ‘alt’ or ‘alt-L’?
If this option doesn’t exist, I’d love for the fine folks at Dorico to consider this for the Engraving Options menu for the next version. Thank you so much!
Not sure about a default, but if you set the chord popover to local (click the head to make it blue), then all chord entries will be local until you close the popover.
Just advance the popover using either tab, space or arrows.
Thanks for the reply - yes I’m aware of the local toggle, also the key command option-L will lock local chord symbols so input remains local every time you open the popover.
Very useful, although I would love the option to have local input as a project-wide default.
