Change format for brass mute indications

I’d like to alter the format for my brass mute indications - a different font, boxed and some use of abbreviations (‘str.’ for ‘straight’ for example.)

I can’t seem to find exactly how to do this. I see that the factory mute indications use a Playing Technique font, but I can’t seem to find where that is connected to the particular straight mute indications so I can change it (except manually each time I use one.)

I would just enter them manually as boxed text (as I did in Finale and Sibelius) but then Note Performer doesn’t understand it and plays back without the mute change. So I need to alter the format for the factory indications … suggestions?

thanks.

Since Playing techniques use Font Styles and not Paragraph Styles, I don’t think you can have boxed text easily. Here is an example with Finale Jazz Text as the Playing Technique font. It has some characters that you insert into the text to make it boxed. Otherwise, find a boxed font. An option would be to create SVG graphic slices from some boxed shift-X text and use type Glyph in the Playing Technique editor were you can insert a graphic.
