Change Notehead on PC Keyboard Input?

HI:)

I’m inputting notes via PC Keyboard with ABCDEFG, values and articulations…
What I’m missing is a key which changes the normal notehead to a Ghost Note (X).

I can change it after the input with rightclicking the note and searching for the “X”, but that’s very slow!

Mostly I’m writing for a 5-string Bass and using a lot of ghost notes for funky staff!

For Percussion Instruments I can change easily the noteheads but not for string instruments and I can’t find anything in the manual.

Would be very faster to just press a key to change to “X” and insert the note like the “.” for staccato.

Thanks for help;)

Heinz.

Did you look in Key commands (Preferences- Mac; Help - Windows)?

Further down that list is X which has a default keyboard command (MAC) already allocated to it. I was able to add in a note (for example 6 C) then do the key command which changed the notehead.
Is this similar to what you are wanting to do? (Make a key command for it if there is not one already created.)

@arco

Yeessssss! Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction.

I searched in the Key Commands but only in the Note Input Section, wanted the note to be a “X” before the Pitch.

This is as good as the other possibility! Binded it to NUM “X” now. That’s a great forward in my workflow speed!

Thanks;)

Heinz.
