On combined staves, I would like to make my cymbals and gongs/tam-tams to use an X notehead as default. I’m aware of the “edit percussion playing techniques” dialogue window for the instrument where I can change the normal round notehead to an X, but I can’t see any place in this menu or in the instrument editor menu itself where I could save this as a default moving forward for future scores (without having go into this menu or import via library manager for every new project). Is it possible?
Hi, clicking on the star icon (save as default) in the Edit Instruments dialogue, after you changed your notehead in the Percussion Instrument Playing Techniques dialogue, should set the new notehead for all future projects. (Or maybe I misunderstood your request?):
Hi, thanks for your response! You understood my request perfectly. Interestingly I didn’t see that for Tam-Tam as seen here:
However, as you can see it’s listed as (in score). So I tried removing from the score and voilà, that button appears and I can now save it as the default! I wasn’t aware that was required first for that button to appear, but now I know
