Change project directory

Hi everyone, this evening I had a problem which many have had even with the old versions of Cubase.
I had to delete and replace some wav files from the “Audio” folder but to my surprise there was no audio in the project folder and then looking at the path I noticed that The audio was uploaded to another project’s “Audio” folder.
After trying in vain to change it for hours I figured out how to do it and so I’m here so I can be of help to someone else.
The first thing you need to do is temporarily rename the “wrong” folder and copy the contents of the “Audio” folder into the correct one (of your project).

The second thing to do is, open the project which will ask you what is the project folder and then you will have to select the right one, save the project.

The third and final one is to rename the folder where the audio was and it ended up here.

I, obviously like those who have had this problem, would strongly suggest adding a simpler way to modify it in the project preferences.

For copying a project into a different folder (including the audio files), there’s the (arguably oddly named) menu item:

File > Back up Project…

Yes I had read it on the forum but it seemed too laborious if like me in the project folder you have 20 projects between versions, demos and tests.
With my procedure you avoid making copies and wasting time.

But I repeat, if they made it possible to modify it from the project, it would be better.

Agreed.
