Change straight eights to "swing eights"

What would be the easiest way to re-write straight eights to tuplets?

Write once, copy, select new rhythmic position, paste.

I didn’t write in enough detail. I have a piece and want to create a swing feeling (without having to re-enter the notes).
I need this for Cantamus.app as they don’t (yet) support swing.

Is this what you mean?

No, the triplets need to be written in.

Honestly, I would create a duplicate blank staff and rewrite it, unfortunately. That’s what I’ve had to do for one of mine.

Yeah, That’s what I had to do too, for the cantamus app, so let’s hope they will soon update their marvellous app … And actually it was a 4 part piece with 80 something bars so it took quite a while. Besides I experienced also with Logic Pro on it but couldn’t get a faster solution, than rewriting.

Well, then I’ll have to go that path. Thanks for your replies.

So I’ve recorded a script which seems to work with a little quirk: it won’t leave triplet input. Somebody have a solution for this?

The script:

local app=DoApp.DoApp()
app:doCommand([[NoteInput.SetGridResolution?RhythmicGridResolutionValue=kQuaver]])
app:doCommand([[EventEdit.NavigateRight]])
app:doCommand([[EventEdit.NavigateRight]])
app:doCommand([[NoteInput.EditLockPosition]])
app:doCommand([[EventEdit.NavigateLeft]])
app:doCommand([[EventEdit.NavigateLeft]])
app:doCommand([[EventEdit.NavigateRightExtend]])
app:doCommand([[NoteInput.StartTupletRun]])
app:doCommand([[NoteInput.StartTupletRun?Definition=3]])
app:doCommand([[EventEdit.NavigateNextItemSamePosition]])
app:doCommand([[EventEdit.NavigateRight]])
app:doCommand([[EventEdit.MoveRight]])
app:doCommand([[EventEdit.NavigateRight]])
app:doCommand([[NoteInput.EditLockPosition]])

I know this script only works for two eight notes followed by another note.

I see the problem: The popover remains open and has to be cancelled manually. I tried deleting the line app:doCommand([[NoteInput.StartTupletRun]]) and that seems to work. It creates the tuplet without invoking the popover.

Great! Thank you!
